Connecting people in treatment with the community

Peers Through Care connects the community with treatment. This new approach will eliminate the cliff edge feeling reported by individuals that can accompany leaving treatment and reduce the number of individuals representing back in to treatment.

Peers Through Care is a group work programme integrated into the main group work streams that form the foundation of everyone’s journey in treatment. The groups are delivered by peers who are also involved in the community based support beyond treatment. This allows individuals to access support with the same individuals and approaches they experienced as part of their treatment journey on a non-time limited basis.

We also offer the opportunity for peers to train and gain employment, returning to the treatment system to engage with others who seek recovery and guide them in moving toward what is important to them, turning Peers through Care into a much needed employment pathway.

Are you in need of this service?

You will be asked to supply your contact details and a brief outline of the circumstances surrounding your need for an advocate. A decision will be made as to if your case can be taken up and in the event that it is, an advocate assigned. All cases are dealt with on a confidential basis, again, this is a peer-led service and all the people dealing with your case will have personal experience of issues connected with substance misuse.
