See Change

A bridge from structured treatment into the community

See Change is a project that combines community engagement with behaviour change programs and Mutual Aid.

This is a chance for individuals leaving treatment to gain social and work skills, develop a routine and move towards employment.

We develop connections with local community organisations, reducing stigma and paving the way for peers in the future.

See Change always involves an exchange between partner organisations and participants. Individuals support and collaborate with the partners and in return they receive benefits such as free admission or education opportunities.

Individuals can engage with the See Change program for as long as they wish.

Current partners include Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Centre, Lickey Hills Park Rangers, Highbury Orchards, The Canal and Riverside Trust, Birmingham Transport Museum and Fircroft College.

“See Change has been fantastic and there is so much I’m looking forward to in the future now. I’m doing volunteer work with the Canal and Riverside trust … it’s so important for my recovery, it gives me structure in the day, it gives me a good routine and it’s empowered me to do more volunteering.”

Being out with See Change over the last few weeks has literally made such a difference to my life, it’s pulled me from the depths of misery to see some beauty in the world. I’ve hit 21 days sober today. Having something to look forward to going out and groups has been really enjoyable. A walk and talk and chance to have some fun and help the rangers at lickey hills, I just can’t say thank you enough.
